B.Tech/Engineering Course Duration

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) is a 4-year undergraduate Engineering programme which is divided into 8 semesters. As per the guidelines prescribed by the All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE), a candidate is provided with a maximum of 8 years to clear all backlogs and to complete the course.

The maximum duration may vary depending on the university, as some even ask the candidate to finish the course in 6-7 years.

Candidate must have passed 10+2 or any equivalent examination from a recognized university.
The candidate must be from the science stream.
Candidate must have scored a minimum aggregate score of 50%. It should be noted that the cut-off differs from institute to institute.
Clearing an entrance exam is mandatory in order to get into the top engineering colleges. There are entrance exams conducted at the national, state and university levels.
Candidates who have completed a 3-year Diploma in any Engineering discipline can join the B.Tech. programme from the second year through the lateral scheme.

B.Tech/Engineering Admission Process

The admission procedure is quite straightforward and quite similar to any other top undergraduate programme.

Get in touch with the college officials and get hold of the admission forms. It can be downloaded online or collected physically at the campuses.
