There are the people who invent new things and do cool things. That is the reason why, becoming a scientist is one of the most popular ambition among students.\u00a0 A scientist is someone who has a firm grasp of more than one physical or natural sciences. There are certain skills required for an aspirant to become a scientist.<\/p>\n<p>Dedication and ability to work along with critical attention is one of the traits of a scientist. He should have the drive to work long hours at a stretch without rest. He should be able to work both independently and dependently, i.e among team mates. Computing skills, management skills, presentation skills and team skills are some skills which are a must for scientists. A scientist is a conglomeration of all these traits.<\/p>\n<p>You can find scientists in almost all fields. Choosing one field to specialize and taking off from them is a sure shot way to becoming a scientist.<\/p>\n<p>Studying hard should be the main input from candidate\u2019s side. Some courses that aspirants came pursue to become scientists are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bachelor courses like B.Sc ( bachelor of science) and B.Tech (bachelor or technology)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Master courses like M.Sc ( master of science) and M.Tech ( master of technology)<\/p>\n<p>After completing master courses, candidates can apply for Ph.D courses under your preferred courses.<\/p>\n<p>Knowing about the eligibility required for each course is very important. Admission to UG courses requires completion of +2 courses of any board. Some colleges keep up specific cut off marks for taking admission to their colleges. Duration of course is usually between 3 to 4 years.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand admission to PG course requires a degree in the applied field from any college or board. However, they must be officially recognized by the college or government. Duration of PG courses are usually 2 years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Admission Process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Admission to colleges usually requires the students to pass in any number of national or state level entrance exams. Admission to premier colleges is strictly based on merit. To find the best candidates, colleges might perform group discussions or interviews. This helps in finding the best candidates. This will, in turn, ensure the full results from them.<\/p>\n<p>Some examples of entrance exams are JEE( joint entrance exam) Main, JEE Advanced, IISER and GATE (graduate aptitude test in engineering).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Career and scope<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is a huge scope for scientists in almost all fields. The explosive growth in population and new technologies has made it imperative for new scientists new emerge with new ideas. Agriculture, physical science, social science, technology, engineering and space research are some areas that require scientists. Scientists are employed in both public and private sector.<\/p>\n<p>As a scientist, candidates can fashion their job profile as they wish. Some job profiles you can assort with scientists are astronomers, food scientists, earth scientists, economists, neuroscientists, criminologists, ecologists and geologists.<\/p>\n<p>Scientists can find themselves employed in many major scientific and private companies like ISRO (Indian Space Research organization), IITM and ICAR.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Scientists can expect a salary package of around 5 lakhs to 6 lakhs per year. Based on experience and expertise, graduates can expect more. In fact, there is no salary limit to the job of a scientist.
