Teaching is among the most reputed and respected jobs and nowadays, people in this profession also earn a handsome bunch.<\/p>\n<p>So what all levels of teaching does a degree in\u00a0<strong>B.Ed\u00a0<\/strong>qualify you for? The course is intended to provide a proper certification to all those aspiring candidates wishing to pursue a career in teaching from primary classes to high schools. In countries like India, this degree is a primary requirement for working in this profession.<\/p>\n<p>A bachelor degree in education is often combined with other specific educational qualifications so as to specialize in teaching for a particular discipline or course. Although\u00a0<strong>B.Ed\u00a0<\/strong>is primary requirement for teaching, it would not necessary guarantee you a job in a huge organization. They would look into your other qualifications like for example, a degree in science or mathematics. Each higher degree can increase the relevance of your application when applying for a job.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Courses<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The course generally takes about 4 years for completion although this time frame may vary depending on the country you are located in. in countries like Australia where these degrees have utmost importance, the course is spread over four years. Most of these colleges also offer two distinct types of courses for aspirants namely: primary and secondary.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have attained a Bachelor of Education degree, you can either directly apply for jobs in various educational institutions. Alternatively, you can also go for higher education i.e. for a degree known as M.Ed or Master of Education. Most colleges also offer this post graduate degree of candidates.<\/p>\n<p>There are two distinct titles given to teachers and professionals in the field namely, Trained Graduate Teacher (or TGT) and Post Graduate Teacher (or PGT). The first one is given to a candidate who has successfully completed his Bachelor degree in Education and is fit to start working as a professional. PGT is given to those candidates with qualifications in addition to\u00a0<strong>B.Ed.\u00a0<\/strong>This may be degrees such as M.A, M.Sc or M.Ed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duration and eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Even though in some countries the course is practiced as a four year course, it was not always the case. Earlier\u00a0<strong>B.Ed\u00a0<\/strong>degrees could be acquired through a one year course in a reputed college. Later it was extended to 2 to 4 years with variations from one country to another.<\/p>\n<p>To become eligible candidates for pursuing the course, he\/she must have a certified degree in some discipline like B.A, B.Com, B.Sc etc. This should also be obtained from some reputed college or institution.
