About Computer Applications
BCA is one of the fastest growing courses in with its demand increasing manifold in recent years. Living in a highly digitalized environment has heightened the demand for computer distance-educations with in-depth knowledge of the systems that are practically running the world today.
This 3-year course will equip you with all the necessary knowledge of a computer's operating system, software design, networking, programming and language. This course is tailor-made for a tech geek. You can even pursue a Masters in Computer Applications which would increase your chances of getting a high-paying job.
Eligibility criteria:
Passed 12th class (Science, commerce or arts) with a minimum of 40%
Some institutes do require mathematics as one of the subjects in your 12th class in order to be eligible for a BCA degree.
Average Fees:
Ranging between 30,000 to 1, 30,000 for the entire course.
Specializations
BCA doesn't have diverse options of specializations to choose from as the aforementioned courses as the general course itself covers all bases. Doing an MCA (which is covered in-depth later on in this article) after a BCA would be doing it the right way if you're planning on pursuing a certain discipline. However, you can specialize in Database systems or Animation and Multimedia if the institute does provide the option.

Admission procedure
Being online programs, you can enroll yourself for any of the bachelor's degrees given above through the website of the institute of your choice.
You need to first visit the website and choose the course of your choice. After a mandatory OTP and email verification, you will be redirected to a page where you would be needed to fill your basic information.
You will be required to enter your class 12th percentile, year of passing and university's name.
You will be asked for your Aadhar card, academic records, passport size photographs and other such documents. You will then be charged a nominal fee for the application form which varies from institute to institute.
Next step would be the payment of fees through online modes such as Net banking, Demand Draft or Cardless EMI, which can be done semester-wise or as a whole for the entire 3-year programme.
The offline procedure would need you to get the form online, fill it and submit it along with the required documents at the nearest centre of the institute or University.
Salary/pay scale
An entry-level BCA graduate can get anywhere around 17,000 to 30,000 which would amount to a 2-3.5 lakhs annual package. Years of experience could see the amount go up to 12-14 lakhs per annum depending on various factors in an organization.
