Before starting JVIT in 2001 there was 25 acres of land in the name of Jnanavikas Vidya Sangha, purchased and donated by padmashree G.D Goyalji and his family members, to establish different educational institutions Mr.D.K. Shivakumar, chairman of global Academy of Technology and other reputed institutions also the present minister in Karnataka Government, was the person who really intitated to start engineering college at this place. He played an important role in getting approval from government of Karnataka and AICTE, Mr. S.M. Krishnaji was Chief Minister. As soon as AICTE gave permission to start engineering college, we started at small scale. Gradually over a period of 10 years the current infrastructures are established. The other notable persons who helped in building this institution are Mr. B.J. Honnashetty, Sri Gowrishankar Swamy, Mr.S. Ramashivanna, Mr.M. Krishnappa, Mr. Hanumanthrayappa, Mr.S.T. Somashekar. 1. Bangalore has salubrious weather with full of greenery. 2. It enjoys cosmopolitan outlook where people of different religions and cultures live comfortably. It caters to the diversified food habits and living styles of different regions. 3. It is the centre for research & development at highest level in all branches of Engineering & Technology. It houses large number of DRDO establishments like ISRO, NAL, GTRE, ADE, ADA.HAL, LRDE etc. 4. Globally recognized institutions such as Indian Institute of Science, IIM [B} etc are located at Bangalore. 5. More than 2000 Top software companies including leading MNCs like Microsoft, Intel, IBM,CISSCO, etc, and others like T.C.S, Infosys, Wipro etc have their main establishments at Bangalore, Providing excellent placement.

The Placement Department at JVIT an active placement cell which caters to the placement and training of our Engineering and Management students. Many companies have visited JVIT for their requirement of fresh engineers and management students. JVIT offers excellent infrastructure for conducting on-campus and pooled campus placement activities. a) The placement department has 6 Training Rooms, 6 GD rooms, 4 interview rooms, Big seminar hall and Control room. b) A dedicated computer lab with 100 systems connected in single LAN to conduct on-line assessments and corporate related aptitude test c) The Placement Department supports training in CV Writing Mock interviews, Group Discussion , Aptitude Assessment, etc., d) Internship opportunities in various companies will be provided for interested UG/PG students.
Good engineering college,have good campus facility and worth for money.Faculties are experienced.Good placement coaching.Annual events are worth attending.Labs are well equipped and a well built campus.Supporting faculties and college bus facility is good.Frequent BMTC buses for the college is also available.But placements are bit low here.
Peaceful environment for studies with supportive faculties and management.Good college for academics.

This college has a good atmosphere.There are wider classrooms in the college.Book back scheme is provided by the library so that every student will be having their textbook for the whole semester.Annual sports are conducted with less interest.The food at the hostel is not that good.The mess charges are not at all worthy.There will be the poor maintenance in the canteen.Though faculty members are interested in doing some interesting stuffs which helps student,management restricts them. Change of faculty will never happen in this college.The fests will happen just for the namesake.Though college is Wifi enabled,but students are not allowed to access.Placements also poor here.
