National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Entrance Examination -2018

Candidates need to fulfill multiple NIFT Entrance Exam 2018 eligibility criteria if they want to secure admission in design programmes offered at the college. Also, each course has different eligibility criteria for NIFT admissions. 

NIFT Entrance Exam 2018 Eligibility Criteria for BDes Programme -

NIFT offers BDes programme in the following specialisations:

• Leather Design
• Fashion Design
• Knitwear Design
• Textile Design
• Accessory Design
• Fashion Communication

Candidates are eligible to apply for admissions in BDes programmes in the above mentioned specialisations if they fulfill any of the below mentioned criterion:

• Have completed their Plus two level (in the 10+2 pattern of examination) from any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, like Central Board of Secondary Education / State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
• Have cleared the General Certificate Education (GCE) Exam (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB).
• Have studied at any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in Foreign countries which is recognised by the Association of Indian Universities to be equivalent to 10+2 system.
• Possess a three or four year diploma which is recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.
• Possess a pass grade in their Senior Secondary School Examination which is conducted by the National Open School having atleast five subjects.

Age Limit for NIFT's Bachelors Programmes: Candidates will be considered eligible to apply for NIFT Entrance Test if they are 23 years of age or below as on October 1, 2016. However, candidates from the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribe/ Differently Abled Person (PHP) category will be given age relaxation of five years for admissions.

NIFT Entrance Exam 2018 Eligibility Criteria for BFtech Programme

Candidates are eligible to apply for admissions in BFTech programme if they fulfill any of the below mentioned criterion

• Have completed their Plus two level (in the 10+2 pattern of examination) from any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, like Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi,and Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, wherein they have studied subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
• Have given General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri- Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / International Baccalaureate (IB).
• Have attended any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries which is recognised by the Association of Indian Universities to be equivalent to 10+2 system of education and have also studied subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
• Have secured a pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination which is conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects and have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
• Have pursued 4 or 3 year diploma programme in any branch of Engineering which is recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education

NIFT Entrance Exam 2018 Eligibility Criteria for NLEA to BDes

Candidate meet the eligibility criteria for NLEA for BDes course if they fulfill the below mentioned requirements:

• Have cleared Secondary School Examination/10th

OR

• Have cleared Senior Secondary Examination/12^th recognised by AIU.

AND

• Have cleared 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE/AIU/UGC or a State Board of Technical Education

AND

• Have attended courses related to Fashion/Apparel/Textile and Accessories/Home Science/Handloom Technology/Products/Visual Communication/Graphic Design/Industrial Design/Interior Design/Multimedia Design/Apparel Technology/Leather.

OR

• Students who have completed 2 year regular UG Diploma Programme at NIFT.

Eligibility Criteria for NLEA to BFTech Apparel Production

Candidate meet the eligibility criteria for NLEA for BFTech course if they fulfill the below mentioned requirements:

• Have cleared Secondary School Examination/10th

AND

• Have cleared  3 or 4-years textile technology/textile engineering/ textile chemistry diploma recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education

OR

• Have cleared Senior Secondary Examination/12th recognized by AIU recognized by AIU with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

AND

• Have successfully completed diploma (including NIFT) of minimum 2 year duration related to Fashion / Apparel / Textile / Home Science/ Handloom Technology

Age Limit: Aspirants who are not more than 24 years of age as on October 1 of the year in which they are seeking admission meet NIFT NLEA eligibility criteria. The maximum (upper) age limit may be relaxed by a period of 5 years for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Persons with Disabilities (PWD).

NIFT Entrance Exam 2017 Eligibility Criteria for MDes Programme

Candidates are eligible to apply for admissions in MDes programme if they fulfillany of the below mentioned criterion:

• Have successfully pursued an undergraduate degree programme from any Institute or University that is recognised by law in India
• Possess a diploma in UG Design from NIFT or NID only.
• Possess an undergraduate Diploma from NIFT or NID of minimum three years duration.

NIFT Entrance Exam 2017 Eligibility Criteria for MFM Programme

Candidates are eligible to apply for admissions in MFM programme if they fulfill any of the below mentioned criterion:

• Possess an undergraduate degree from any Institute or University which is recognised by law in India.
• Pursued an undergraduate diploma (of minimum three years duration) from NIFT/NID.

NIFT Entrance Exam 2018 Eligibility Criteria for MFTech Programme

Candidates are eligible to apply for admissions in MFTech Programme if they fulfill any of the below mentioned criterion:

• Pursued BFTech from NIFT
• Pursued BE or BTech from any Institute or University which is recognized by law in India.

Apart from this, 15% of seats (that is, 5 seats in each course) at NIFT are reserved for foreign nationals/SAARC/NRIs. Such candidates will be offered admissions based on the below mentioned exams:

Age Limit for Masters Programme: There is no age limit for candidates for any Masters programme at NIFT.
