Top Recruiters

  • MAERSK

The college has a functioning placement cell that is only there to communicate with business people. Soft skill development programmes are regularly held, preparing students for the recruitment process. In this process, a number of reputable training organisations are involved. Additionally, HIMT College has had success matching its students with reputable companies like ABS Marine Services Pvt. Ltd., Torm, The Sanmar Group, Fleet Management Limited, Ocean Sparkle Limited, and many others.

Currently, there is a huge demand for marine engineers and deck officers on a global scale. The shipping companies have a pressing need for Deck & Engine officers. As a result, trained people are offered jobs immediately all over the world. The team in charge of navigation, cargo loading and unloading, radio transmission, crew control, and passenger safety is known as the navigating office team. The ship's chief navigator is the master, who sets the course of the voyage and steers the boat. Officers, crew members, and passengers of the ship are entirely under his control. A person will be promoted to the position of ship captain if they have the required amount of sea time and successfully complete additional exams.

The GP crew assists the Chief Officers on the Deck or the Second Engineer on the Engine side by performing a variety of daily tasks. One can move up from a GP crew position to a Captain or Chief Engineer level with the right tests and sea time. The cooking and food preparation will be done by the catering staff. Specialised fitters and welders are greatly needed for a wide variety of vessel types. Deck and engine crew, catering crew with a saloon department, fitters, and welders are among the jobs that make up the GP Crew.
