IIT Madras:
IIT Madras is an autonomous statutory organization running under Institutes of Technology act. It is the third IIT established by the government of India in the year 1959, located in the capital city of the state, Chennai. IIT Madras is a residential Institute with its campus widely spread across 2.5 Km2. College of Engineering, Guindy:
CEG is the oldest technical institute in India founded in the year 1794. Formerly known as ‘the school of survey’, later it was renamed as ‘college of engineering’ with the subsequent inclusion of civil and mechanical engineering courses in 1861. In later years, the college offered courses in several other disciplines of engineering affiliated to Anna University.
It is one of the first technical institutes in India to offer engineering courses. It was ranked 7th among other top engineering colleges in India by Outlook India in 2017 which of course makes it one of the best engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. NIT, Tiruchirapalli:
Tiruchirapalli, renowned for owning schools and colleges that are ages old is considered as an ‘educational town’. Vellore Institute of Technology:
VIT, located in Vellore is a private deemed University founded in the year 2984 by G. Vishwanathan as Vellore Engineering College. It has 3 other campuses in Chennai, Bhopal and Amaravathi. Besides engineering, technology and science programs, the institute also offers courses in management with overall 20 UG programs, 4 integrated MS programs (UG+PG), 34 Postgraduate and 4 doctoral programs.
