There are two undergraduate courses for aspiring Engineers – Bachelor of Engineer (B.E.) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.).

Engineering/B.Tech. Course Duration
Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) is a 4-year undergraduate that is split into 8 semesters. The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has allotted candidates a maximum of 8 years to clear all pending backlogs and complete the course.
Ideally, though, the course should be finished in 4 years.
Engineering/B.Tech. Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board or university.
- Candidate should be from the Science stream with compulsory subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- The minimum cut-off is 50% which differs from institute to institute.
- Students who have done a 3-year diploma can join the B.Tech. course from the second year. It’s through the Lateral entry programme to ensure a seamless transition.

- Shortlist colleges that match your preferences.
- Download and fill admission forms. If the college website doesn’t provide the same, collect it from the campus.
- Get details of the relevant entrance exam and complete the application process which may include paying a nominal fee.
