The course is made up of theoretical lectures, practicals, seminars, and industrial visits to domestic and international airports.

The assessment is done via semester-end written examinations, major and minor projects, internal class tests and Viva Voice. All core subjects carry a total of 100 marks – 75 for written and 25 for internals. A student can get a maximum of 4 credits per core subject. Minor subjects carry 2 credits and are marked out of 50.

There is a minimum attendance record that needs to be met in order to be eligible to attend the semester-end examinations. Most top colleges set the compulsory attendance requirement at 75%.
